I’ve been practicing yoga since 2002 as a way to move, breathe and be present. After fifteen years as a yoga student, I completed my 200-hour yoga certification in 2017. Initially seeking to deepen my personal practice, I discovered the joy of sharing yoga with others and quickly began teaching vinyasa classes that same year. I’m certified to teach prenatal yoga and have additional training in slow flow and restorative yoga.
My journey to teaching meditation began with a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course I took in 2011 and continued a decade later when I began the MBSR teacher training pathway through Brown University. I am a Qualified MBSR teacher and have participated in several multi-day silent meditation retreats. Cultivating my personal meditation practice is at the heart of my teaching.
I began my professional career as a teacher through Teach for America, which sparked my passion for creating healthier environments and practices. I went on to pursue a Master of Public Health and worked for fifteen years at the intersection of health and education as a program and partnership director for non-profit organizations addressing school health.
My work through root & flow is grounded in my background in teaching and public health.
My services bring together my deep experience in yoga and mindfulness with my skills in teaching to offer you a way to establish mindfulness practices in your own life.
I live in New Jersey with my husband and enjoy hiking, skiing, cooking, cozying up with a good book and a strong coffee and walking my two rescue dogs around town.
